Passports & Visas:
VISA REGULATIONS FOR FOREIGNERS Visitors obtain an entry visa
from our Embassies or Consulates in their countries or at the
port of entry for those nationalities that do not require a visa
prior to entry as a precondition.
The passport must be valid for at least 2 months prior to the
visa expiration date and duration of stay, and must have Egypt
among the added countries. A transit visa allows the visitor a
maximum of 7 day stay in the country.. When necessary a transit
visa covering the required hours of stay may be issued.
Entry & Transit Visa Fees:
The fee is US $15 or equivalent in other currencies.
A group visa may be issued for group passports of tourists whose
arrival in Egypt is arranged by tourist agencies provided that
all members remain with the group
On Leaving:
The
visitor and persons in transit may take out all jewelry and
personal effects that have been declared upon entry; also
allowed are all gifts purchased provided they are for personal
use and are not in commercial quantities and have a value
commensurate with the currency declared on entry.
The visitor may leave the purchases made at Khan el Khalili with
the vendor who can then export them to the home address through
one of the recognized export agencies provided the purchaser
validates possession of the items purchased.
Health Regulations:
Visitors arriving from epidemic areas such as Yellow Feverand
Cholera must have a valid Vaccination Certificate at least 6
days prior to arrival in consonance with the WHO Certified
rules. The certificate must be valid for 6 months after the 6th
day following the vaccination date.

The
pound is the unit of currency and is divided into 100 piasters.
